I

The Valley of the Ibar River also called "Valley of Lilacs". The valley was named after lilacs trees planted seven centuries ago by madly love-struck Serbian king Uros I as a welcoming gesture for his Provencal bride, Helen of Anjou. Later, in this valley Queen Jelena (eng. Helen) built a women's monastery called Gradac. Nearby are two more medieval monasteries Žiča and Studenica, which is on UNESCO's list of World Cultural Heritage.

If you prefer adrenaline tours over medieval sites, you may try white-water rafting on the notoriously fast Ibar River.
