The most famous brass band festival in the world. Trumpet music, the Serbian way.
Every year, at the beginning of August 600,000 visitors from Serbia and abroad make their way to Guča, town of 2,000 people, to participate in the most famous Serbian brass bend festival. Official festival lasts for three days: Friday's opening concert, Saturday night celebrations and Sunday's competition. Friday's concerts are held at the entrance to the official Guča Festival building and features previous winners, each band getting to play three tunes while folk dancers dance in front of a hyped-up audience. After, visitors move to the streets and restaurants where they party until the dawn. Similar is repeated on Saturday and Sunday...
The visitors are accommodated in city center rural households, nearby villages, or in fully equipped camp, which makes the authenticity of visiting the Guča brass festival even stronger. Except the brass music and smiling people who dance to the rhythm of drums and trumpets, one can enjoy the taste of roast lamb and pork or the famous wedding cabbage soup, while drinking fruit brandy or beer.
In fact, there are no words to describe this atmosphere, one must feel it. There are a few things in life one shouldn’t miss, this is one of them.
